Who is eligible to use this site?
Spouses/partners of Microsoft Full Time (FTE) employees. Proof will be required.


How did this community come to existence?
Microsoft launched the Retrogression Family Initiative in 2007 to address family concerns of Microsoft employees impacted by Green Card Retrogression. The purpose of the initiative is to provide programs to enrich the lives of Microsoft employee Spouses/partners impacted by the green card retrogression.This website is one tactic which provides spouses/partners with information related to career and self- development and opportunities to realize their full potential.


What is the vision for this community?
To develop a social environment which improves the quality of life of spouses / partners throughout Microsoft. Our program focuses on enabling spouses / partners to learn, thrive and grow, while developing a strong sense of community among our members.


Is there a fee for signing up?
There is no fee for joining this community.


Why do you need my spouse/partner’s e-mail?
Your spouse/partner’s e-mail is needed to confirm your eligibility.


How is my personal information used?
Your personal information is not distributed. It may only be used to update you on events or activities related to the spouse community.


Who will have access to my information?
Only the internal Microsoft immigration project management team will have access to your information.


Is my information shared with others outside of Microsoft?
No.


What happens if my spouse/partner leaves Microsoft? Can I still be a part of the community?
You may be removed from the community if your spouse/partner ends their employment with Microsoft. Current Microsoft FTE spouses/partners are the intended audience for this website and our services.

Generally, you will receive a response from Microsoft Immigration Family Network within 2 - 3 business days.


What is the difference between the message board and the blog?
The discussion board is for community members to start conversation threads about topics. Members can also use the discussion board to participate and answer questions posted by other members. The blog features questions and comments posted by Microsoft. Members can use the blog to answer questions.


Are there any community features/programs for our children?
As of right now we do not have programs outside of the benefits for Microsoft employees for employees with children. To learn more about Microsoft Health options, please click here.


Where does the career assistance information come from?
All information comes from organizations outside of Microsoft which have expertise in career development. Please note that these companies are not endorsed by Microsoft. Please use this information with discretion.


How often do you host events?
Typically, we host bimonthly events in the Puget Sound area and events 2x a year in other locations across the US
